How to use

  1. Pick the country or sizing system you already know — e.g. "US" if the garment was bought in US sizing.
  2. Select your size and the equivalents in every other system appear at once.
  3. Check the full chart below too — knowing the neighboring sizes helps when you're between sizes.

Frequently asked questions

Why do sizes differ so much between countries?+

Each country grades sizes differently: Korea and Japan label actual measurements (mm/cm), the US and UK use inches and their own grades, and Europe uses separate number systems. They're different names for the same body, so a chart can line them up.

What is a US men's 9 in EU sizing?+

A US men's 9 is roughly EU 42.5, UK 8.5 — a 27 cm (270 mm) foot.

Do Nike and Adidas follow this chart?+

Brands publish slightly different charts — the same 27 cm foot can be a US 9 at Nike and US 9.5 at Adidas. Use this standard chart to get close, then confirm with the brand's own table.

What if a brand's sizing doesn't match the chart?+

This chart follows the standard international correspondence, but cuts vary by brand — expect up to one size of drift. The safest check is the brand's own size chart with actual measurements in centimeters.

Unit guide

How each country sizes shoes

Korea labels foot length in millimeters (265 = 26.5 cm) and Japan in centimeters. Europe counts in Paris points (2/3 cm); the US and UK use last-based scales, with US men's sizes about 0.5 above UK.

When buying sneakers abroad, check both the US/EU label and the mm/cm value on the product page — the same US 9 sometimes maps to 275 mm depending on the brand.

How to measure your feet

Stand on paper with your heel against a wall, mark your longest toe, and measure. Evening measurements are most reliable, and always fit the larger foot.

Add about 10 mm of room for running shoes and around 5 mm for dress shoes and loafers. Wide feet? Go up half a size or pick a wide fit.
